NWC facilities down due to power outage following train derailing incident
The National Water Commission is reporting that several of its facilities in the Bog Walk and Ewarton areas in St. Catherine are out of operation due to power supply outages resulting from a derailed train damaging Jamaica Public Service power lines.
This has impacted water supply to customers in St. Catherine and Kingston with some experiencing low water pressure, intermittent supply, or disruptions resulting in no water.
Customers are encouraged to conserve their water storage at this time.
The NWC said it is conducting assessments on impacted water facilities.
It assured that regular operations will resume as soon as power supply is restored to the facilities.
Among the affected communities are Kent Village, Spanish Town and downtown Kingston.
