Bus operators who ply Mandeville/Kingston route upset that they were not consulted about rollout of JUTC buses on same route
With the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) to roll out a new bus route that connects Mandeville, Manchester and Downtown, Kingston today several bus operators are decrying what they say is the lack of consultation on the decision.
The new carriage route called route 512, will connect the two locations via the East-West Highway.
The launch will allow smartfare card top-ups and facilitate new sign-ups for persons getting a JUTC card for the first time.
However, according to Shabba, a bus operator who plies the Mandeville to Kingston route, he and his colleagues were left out of the discussions.
He said operators are being dealt a major blow with the new route.
