Union representing private security guards says sick out remains in effect until next Monday
The union representing private security guards has noted that a sick-out remains in effect until next Monday, as so far, only one security company has responded to concerns raised.
The Jamaica Association for Private Security (JAPS) said the industrial action stems from contention over a breach in uniform policy, among other issues.
JAPS President, Teddy Lee Gray said that based on reports, some guards stayed off the job, but security companies were not affected significantly.
He said King Alarm is the only company that has made some concessions with regard to uniforms.
Gray said King Alarm also assured that guards will get their rest day.
He said JAPS is still awaiting a response from the Jamaica Society for Industrial Security.
