Ackera Nugent confirmed for Lausanne Diamond League meet
World Indoor bronze medallist Ackera Nugent has been confirmed for the Women’s 100 meters hurdles at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting in Switzerland on August 20.
At the event, Nugent who already has three podium finishes on the 2025 Wanda Diamond League circuit, will face a competitive field that includes world record holder Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, world leader and Olympic Champion Masai Russell, European Silver medalist Ditaji Kambundji and Dutch star Nadine Visser who finished fourth at the Paris Olympics.
The Women’s 100 metre hurdles will carry the Diamond League label, meaning the prize money for the winner will be doubled to U.S $20,000 dollars with significantly increased pay-outs for the runners-up as well.
Nugent, meanwhile is fifth on the Diamond League standings on 13 points, 2 points behind compatriot and two-time world champion Danielle Williams who is on 15..
Top spot is occupied by American Grace Stark on 35 points followed by Amusan 17 and Visser on 16.
The upcoming meet takes place a week before the Wanda Diamond League final in Zurich.
