Grade 7 students who have challenges with literacy and numeracy to only do 6 subjects
Grade 7 students who require focused attention to correct fundamental issues relating to literacy and numeracy will do only six subjects and not the usual 10 or 11.
This as the Education Ministry aims to support children who may not be academically equipped to handle too many subjects.
Speaking during the Education, Transformation Oversight Committee (E-TOC) press conference at Jamaica House yesterday, Chairman Dr. Adrian Stokes highlighted this concern and noted that measures are being taken to address it.
He stressed the importance of these students being provided with the necessary support so that they can attain a successful secondary level education.
