Efforts being undertaken to make the public school board selection process more rigorous will include transparency and legislative measures.

Chairman of the Education, Transformation Oversight Committee (E-TOC) Dr. Adrian Stokes, spoke about the reform measures during a press briefing at Jamaica House yesterday.

He said the school board selection framework should be more rigorous, as institutions with strong boards tend to perform better.

Dr. Stokes explained that the second reform, which relates to legislative changes, aims to ensure that the regulative guidelines for Government and church-run institutions are similar.
