Educators who teach grades 1-3 being trained in reading instruction for upcoming school year, which starts in September
Educators who teach grades one to three are being trained in reading instruction for the upcoming school year, which starts in September.
The training is one of several intervention strategies being implemented by the Education Ministry to improve students’ performance during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Dr. Adrian Stokes, Chairman of the Education Transformation Oversight Committee (E-TOC), spoke about the initiatives during a press briefing at Jamaica House this morning.
Dr. Stokes stated that the practice of advancing students from one grade to the next, regardless of their academic development, will be discontinued.
