30 gang members apprehended by St. Catherine South Police; 18 guns and 219 assorted ammunition seized
The St. Catherine South Police have apprehended 30 gang members from nine active gangs within the division so far this year.
Commanding Officer, Senior Superintendent of Police, Leighton Grey, made the disclosure during a Virtual Townhall meeting yesterday.
As part of the division’s crime reduction strategy, SSP Grey noted that his team has relentlessly pursued gangsters to disrupt their activities.
He said of those apprehended, several of them were taken to court and convicted.
SSP Grey added that lawmen seized 18 firearms and 219 assorted ammunition during operations that targeted gang activities.
