Government earmarks $350 million to undertake drought mitigation measures
As Jamaicans brace for drier conditions, the Government has earmarked $350 million to undertake a suite of measures aimed at drought mitigation.
Water Minister Matthew Samuda says the mitigation efforts will include water trucking support and tank purchases.
He notes that farmers will also be supported.
Mr. Samuda assures that the $350 million will benefit those in need.
Samuda was speaking during a press conference at Jamaica House this morning.
