“My heart is full”: Bounty Killer reflects on historic Barclays show
Bounty Killer is expressing gratitude following his sold-out concert at the Barclays Center in New York on July 5.
In a press release sent to Music News, Bounty Killer thanked his fans, his team, promoter CJ Milan, and others for playing a role in what he described as “a celebration of our Jamaican heritage, of dancehall culture, of my personal struggles and triumphs, and most of all—of unity.”
“Saturday, July 5th, 2025, will forever be etched in my heart as one of the most powerful moments of my entire career,” Bounty Killer shared. “After more than 15 years away from the U.S. stage, to return and be embraced with such overwhelming love and energy—I have to give thanks.”
He continued, “To the over 20,000 fans who filled the Barclays Center and shared this iconic night with me—singing, dancing, and vibing as I poured out my soul with every song—you all made me feel truly special. Your energy fueled every lyric, every moment, and every heartbeat of the performance.”
Bounty Killer also expressed gratitude to the entertainers who joined him on stage: “To my musical family—Mavado, Aidonia, Masicka, Elephant Man, Richie Stephens, Dexta Daps, Junior Reid, I-Octane, my son Majah Myah, Kip Rich, and Charlie Black—each of you brought your unique fire to the stage. Your presence made the night truly unforgettable. The respect and love we shared both backstage and onstage reminded me of why I fell in love with this music over four decades ago.”
He went on to thank his loyal fans, children, family, and team. “To DJ Khaled, to Miss Ivy (RIP), to the amazing band Nine X Nine that I’ve carefully assembled these past few months, and to Ricard Stephens, my voice coach and musical director—thank you for helping me rise to the occasion.”
Bounty Killer concluded, “This journey through dancehall has never been easy—but it has always been worth it. And this night proved that real music can never die. My heart is full. The mission continues. See you again soon.”
The sold-out performance at the Barclays Center marked Bounty Killer’s long-awaited return to the U.S. stage after 15 years.
