The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM is probing a shooting incident at the Central Village Police Station in St. Catherine, yesterday.

Reports are that a Corporal was in the guard room, trying to clear his gun of a round, when he accidentally dropped the weapon.

In an attempt to catch the gun, a round was discharged, hitting the officer to the left hand. 

Another Corporal entered the guardroom and was grazed in the abdomen by the same bullet.

Both officers were treated at hospital.

The incident scene was processed by INDECOM and the weapon seized.
