Police have identified the teen girl killed at her home in Prospect, St. Thomas yesterday.

Dead is 14-year-old Teyanna Sutherland, a United States citizen.

She was reportedly in Jamaica to spend the summer holiday break with her father who is a police officer.

Reports are that, the father tried to contact the teen by telephone and when there was no answer, he went home to check on her.

He arrived at about 1:00 P.M. and found the girl with several stab and chop wounds all over her body.

The girl was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Further reports are that residents had observed a man running from the house some time earlier.

A suspect was later taken into custody.
