Jamaica senior men’s basketball coach Rick Turner coming for local try out

Jamaica senior men’s basketball coach Rick Turner will be landing in the island on Thursday for the two-days national try out for basketball players wishing to make the national team. 

Turner will spearhead the event to be staged at the National Arena this Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 12 pm each day.  

The players are seeking to get into Jamaica’s squad for the upcoming FIBA America’s Men’s World Cup Qualifiers set for August in Mexico . 

Jamaica will face, host Mexico, along with Barbados and Costa Rica in their group, with the top two teams advancing to the next round. 

Jamaica’s road to the FIBA World Cup will begin with a short but intense eight-day training camp in Miami, Florida scheduled for July 29 to August 5, as the coaching staff works to develop a team chemistry in a relatively short time frame.

The local coaches include, Rohan Robinson, Cleon Morgan and Damion Sullivan .
