“We are neither green nor orange!”

That’s the declaration from Chairman of the St. James Municipal Corporation, Richard Vernon as he sought to clarify that the operations of the corporation are not politically motivated. 

Mayor Vernon, who is also a Jamaica Labour Party Councillor made the comment following public scrutiny over the removal of  political signage across the municipality. 

At least three members of the People’s National Party have made complaints. 

However, Mr. Vernon argued that the signs were only removed when they encroached upon designated revenue-generating areas.

He maintained that his office has acted with integrity.
