The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM is reporting that 160 people have been fatally shot by members of the security forces since the start of the year.

The latest incident occurred in Burgher Gully, Mountain View, Kingston 2, this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Christopher Murray otherwise called Chris of the community.

Reports are that at about 6am, Murray and the lawmen had a confrontation.

The civilian was shot and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

INDECOM is probing the incident.

Up to June 26, last year, 74 people were fatally shot by members of the security forces.

This is 86 fewer than this year’s fatalities.
