Rastafarians in St. James to get titles for 2 plots of land in Albion
Rastafarians in St. James will soon get titles for 2 plots of land in Albion.
Culture Minister Olivia Grange gave the update, during her contribution to the Sectoral Debate, in the Lower House, today.
The lands will be given to the Coral Gardens Benevolent Society.
The land ownership transfer is part of the government’s efforts to atone for the 1963 Coral Gardens Massacre.
It comes a year after Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness offered an official apology to the Rastafari community, with a promise to right the wrongs of the past.
