Jamaica Civil Service Association not satisfied with announced 7.5% salary increase for public sector workers
The Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) says it is not satisfied with the recently announced salary increase for public sector workers, stating that it is not a new benefit.
Yesterday, Finance Minister Fayval Williams announced that the movement of up to three increments in the salary scales for public sector workers will amount to an increase in basic salary of approximately 7.5 per cent for “most persons”.
However, President of the JCSA, Techa Clarke-Griffiths, told IRIE FM News that the increase is simply the payment of outstanding amounts owed for more than three years.
She said the association still awaits negotiations on current claims.
