Government Senator Charles Sinclair says the Andrew Holness-led government will not apologize for the use of States of Public Emergency, SOEs. 

He made the remark in the Senate yesterday. 

The statement follows the recent ruling by the Constitutional Court that the SOEs imposed between 2018 and 2023, were unconstitutional. 

The government was taken to court by the opposition People’s National Party over the matter.  

Speaking in the upper house Mr. Sinclair defended the use of the SOEs, and stated that they saved many lives. 

He claimed that under the previous PNP administration, murders increased.
