JPS says power restored to over 49,000 customers following disruption during squall passage yesterday

The approximately 400 Jamaica Public Service (JPS) customers who remain without power following yesterday’s squall line are expected to be reconnected today.

Some 50,000 customers lost power due to the weather event, which brought strong winds.

The JPS says more than 49,600 customers have already been reconnected to the grid.

It says the remaining customers who are scattered across Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, and Clarendon should receive power supply by the end of today.
