MEGJC revises operations manual for government’s NSHP following recommendations made by Auditor General
The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) says it has revised its operations manual for the government’s New Social Housing Programme (NSHP).
This as it seeks to implement recommendations outlined in the recent Auditor General’s performance report on the management of the government’s social benefit programmes.
The NSHP is one of several programmes flagged by the Auditor General.
Addressing this morning’s sitting of the Public Accounts Committee, MEGJC’s Permanent Secretary, Arlene Williams said the ministry has taken steps to implement the AG’s recommendations where necessary.
She also sought to address concerns raised in the AG report about the functions of the NSHP being similar to those of the Social Housing Programme (SHP), which was introduced earlier.
