UTECH and NWC partner to train persons in non-revenue water detection and mitigation

The University of Technology (UTECH) Jamaica and the National Water Commission (NWC) have partnered to facilitate the training of persons in non-revenue water (NRW) detection and mitigation.

The training programme combines theoretical instruction with hands-on training to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to detect, diagnose and mitigate water leaks.

Speaking at the recent signing of the agreement at UTECH’s Papine Campus in Kingston, Acting President of the NWC, Kevin Kerr, said the partnership is an investment in the nation’s future.

He said the partnership also builds on the NWC’s ongoing thrust to tackle the NRW challenges.
