As Father’s Day fast approaches this Sunday June 15, 2025, Dancehall artiste Samantha J is reflecting on the role her dad played in her development as a woman and an artiste.

She says despite her mom and dad separating when she was just a child, her dad, Blair Gonsalves made sure he maintained a strong presence in her and her sister’s life.

Speaking with IRIE FM today, the ‘Tight Skirt’ hitmaker says even when others attempted to discourage her from her career path as an artiste, her father has always been fully in support of her decision.

Samantha is currently promoting her single “Love me for me”, available on all major streaming platforms.
