Opposition Leader Mark Golding urges Jamaicans to exercise critical thinking when listening to utterances of members of JLP
Opposition Leader Mark Golding has urged Jamaicans to exercise critical thinking when listening to the utterances of members of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
Mr. Golding made the statement in Old Harbour, St. Catherine, this morning as People’s National Party officials and supporters intensify their protest against Dennis Chung’s appointment to the Financial Investigations Division.
This is the Party’s second protest on the matter, since Mr. Chung assumed office on June 2.
Mr. Golding said his party will remain steadfast in its advocacy for Mr. Chung’s removal as the PNP believes he must not head an institution leading major probes into the Prime Minister’s financial statements.
Mr. Chung made pronouncements on cases, including one relating to the statutory declarations of Dr. Andrew Holness.
The Government has said the appointment is valid but Mr. Golding is urging the public to assess each move and pronouncement made by the JLP administration carefully.
