The majority of crashes that occurred on nation’s roads within past two weeks were due to carelessness -Dr. McKenzie
The Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (P-STEB) is reporting that the majority of the crashes that occurred on the nation’s roads within the past two weeks were due to carelessness.
Head of P-STEB, Assistant Commissioner, Dr. Gary McKenzie, made the revelation during the Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association’s Road Safety Launch on Wednesday.
He lamented that the tragedies on the roads are due to what he calls voluntary actions by motorists.
Noting that road deaths can be avoided, Dr. McKenzie is urging motorists to slow down.
According to the latest data from the Road Safety Unit, 167 people have been killed in road crashes so far this year.
