Efforts being made by UWI Mona Guild to have discounted fares offered on shuttle service to students
Efforts are being made by the Guild of Students at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, to have discounted fares offered on shuttle service to students.
The update was given by Guild President Roshaun Wynter, who spoke at the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) virtual meeting last evening.
Yesterday’s meeting focused on safety and public transportation on campuses, in observance of National Road Safety Month.
Wynter noted that the Guild is in discussions with the UWI management to have shuttle service offered as well as to have the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) offer special service to students.
He added that with financial difficulties taken into consideration, the Guild will seek to assist students in having their shuttle fares reduced, come September.
