JLP says it would be wrong for gov’t to interfere in PSC operations regarding Dennis Chung’s appointment to FID
The Jamaica Labour Party JLP says it would be wrong for the government to interfere in the operations of the Public Service Commission, PSC in relation to the appointment of Dennis Chung as Chief Technical Director of the Financial Investigations division.
The government is being pressured by the opposition People’s National party to revoke the appointment.
However the J-L-P says it will not be bullied to act inappropriately.
Member of the J-L-P Communications Taskforce Marlon Morgan says the party rejects what it describes as the unwarranted and politically contrived protest staged by the P-N-P today.
Meantime, the party says today’s protest by the opposition was vulgar and inappropriate and is tantamount to a vulgar attack on the PSC.
Spokesman Senator Abka Fitz-Henley says he condemns the PNP’s insistence that the administration improperly interferes in a process supervised and coordinated by an independent body.
He insists the party will not be bullied into taking action which would represent a breach of due process.
Senator Abka Fitz-Henley and Mr. Morgan were speaking at a press conference today
