It has nothing to do with ‘badmind’, it’s ‘goodminds’ standing against corruption – Golding calls for good governance

“It has nothing to do with ‘badmind’, it is ‘goodminds’ standing against corruption.”

That was the comment from Opposition Leader and President of the People’s National Party (PNP), Mark Golding, during a peaceful protest at Heroes Circle in Kingston this morning.

Mr. Golding was joined by several placard-bearing PNP officials and supporters who registered their discontent with the recent appointment of Dennis Chung as the Chief Technical Director of the Financial Investigations Division (FID).

Mr. Chung’s appointment takes effect today but Mr. Golding maintained that the move represents an erosion of good governance and defilement of principle.

This, especially since Mr. Chung has made public pronouncements on cases which are being investigated by the FID, including one relating to the statutory declarations of the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Councillor for the Waterford Division in Portmore, St. Catherine, Fenley Douglas, called on Mr. Chung to recuse himself from his role at the FID.
