Fifteen schools are set to benefit from enhanced learning environments and new digital resources.

This comes through a $10 million initiative launched in celebration of Labour Day today.

The upgrades are the result of a strategic partnership involving the CHASE Fund, the National Education Trust (NET) and e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited.

According to the Ministry of Education, this collaboration aims to bridge the digital divide that has long hindered equitable access to quality education.

In a statement, the Ministry said the initiative will improve internet connectivity in schools with limited access and provide smartboards and laptops to support 21st-century teaching and learning.

Beneficiaries include infant, primary, secondary, and special needs institutions, such as: Chantilly Primary and Infant School in Westmoreland ; Edgehill School of Special Education, Ocho Rios Campus in St. Ann; Porus High School in Manchester, and Catherine Hall Special Education Unit in St. James

Chief Executive Officer of e-Learning Jamaica, Andrew Lee, emphasized that equitable access to technology is vital to transforming education.
