Boom Dandimite legacy lives on: Bounty pays tribute, daughters launch foundation
Dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer paid tribute yesterday, to his long-time friend and former Scare Dem Crew member, Boom Dandimite two years after his death.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday May 21, Bounty shared a snippet of him and Boom Dandimite performing on stage with the caption, ‘forever in our hearts.’
The video, accompanied by three heart emojis in the Rastafari colours, sees Bounty crediting Boom Dandimite’ for always encouraging him, adding that Boom Dandimite was his brother from another mother who took him to the studio and showed him the ropes.
Born Herman Stewart, Boom Dandimite died on Sunday May 21, 2023, in a US hospital, after suffering a major relapse during his recovery from a car accident in Jamaica in April 2023.
Meanwhile, Boom Dandimite’s daughters have started an initiative in their father’s honour. Dubbed Project Boom Dandimite, under the mantra, ‘Believe you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think’ the foundation aims to support lives through acts of kindness.
A video shared on Boom Dandimite’s Instagram, highlights his daughters donating school supplies to the Seaview Gardens SDA Basic School based in located in the community where Boom Dandimite developed his love for music. The initiative comes amid the national observance of Child Month and according to his daughters, reflects the kind person Boom Dandimite was.
