“We don’t want to kill you” – Holness tells highly skilled and intelligent persons who engage in crimes

“We don’t want to kill you, we want to deter you from crime”.

That statement from Prime Minister Andrew Holness, as he urged highly skilled and intelligent persons to use their gifts for good instead of bad.

Speaking at the grand opening of the Guardsman Cyber Intelligence Security Operations Centre, Dr Holness acknowledged the stereotype of who a criminal is, adding that such persons can be highly intelligent and hold tertiary level degrees.

The prime minister noted that over the last decade, the national security apparatus has been bolstered to facilitate better intelligence gathering, and investigative capabilities.

He warned criminals that the odds of them being caught has increased.
