Labour ministry concludes probe into Chinese car service in St. Catherine; findings shared with police
Minister of Labour Pearnel Charles Jnr said investigations into the Chinese operated car service company in St. Catherine revealed that some workers did not have permits and these and other findings have been shared with the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
He made the revelation today at a press conference in Kingston.
The Labour Ministry launched an investigation into the operations of the Whole Hearted Car Service Company in Ferry Pen, last month.
Mr. Charles Jnr. said the work permit and the occupational safety and health units visited the facility multiple times to conduct their investigation.
He confirmed that the investigation has concluded and it was found that some employees were working without a permit.
Mr. Charles reiterated that activities at the facility have ceased.
He noted that the ministry has no issue with the company offering its services once workers get the necessary permits and the law is being obeyed.
