Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says the continuous show of restraint by members of the Job Lane community, following Kelsey Ferrigon’s murder, represent the growing credibility of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

The nine-year-old’s partially naked body was discovered upside down inside a barrel at her home in Job Lane, Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Friday.

She was beaten and sexually assaulted.

The police have launched a manhunt for 39-year-old Giovanni Ellis, otherwise called “Coolie Man”, who has been listed as a person of interest in the case.

There have been calls from the government and the constabulary, for citizens to allow the matter to be handled according to the law.

While addressing cops, just before meeting Kelsey’s mother yesterday, Prime Minister Holness commended community members for placing their trust in the competence of the police.

He noted that once trust in the law becomes the method by which such issues are resolved, Jamaica will be well on its way  to becoming a law-abiding country.
