Kishane Thompson second place finisher in men’s 100 metres in Shanghai
Paris Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson had to settle for second place in the Men’s 100 metres this morning at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Shanghai.
Thompson clocked a season best 9.99 seconds as the South African Akani Simbine took the event in 9.98 seconds.
Former national champion Rohan Watson was 6th in in 10.18 seconds.
Two times World champion Dannielle Williams was also second in the womens 100 metre hurdles where she clocked 12.55 seconds to finish behind the American Grace Stark who won in a world leading and meet record 12.42 seconds.
Jordon Scott claimed second place in the mens triple jump with a best effort of 17 metres
Meanwhile, Olympic bronze medallist Rasheed Broadbell was the best placed Jamaican in the mens 110 metre hurdles, he clocked 13.24 seconds for third in the event with Tokyo Olympic champion Hansle Parchment 6th in 13.32 seconds. The other Jamiacan in the event was Orlando Bennett, who was 8th in 13.49 seconds, while Cordell Tinch of the USA won in a personal best, meet record and world leading 12.87 seconds.
Wayne Pinnock secured third place in the mens long jump with a clearance measurig 8.10 metres, while Tajay Gayle was 5th at 8.05 metres.
Natoya Goule-Toppin produced her best effort of the season , but was only good enough for 4th in the womens 800 metres in 1 minute :58.43
Danniel Thomas-Dodd was 8th in the womens shot put at 18.21 metres.
