Mount Pleasant cited  for  another  breach   by  defending  champions  Cavalier

Last  years  beaten  finalist  Mount Pleasant  have  been  cited  for  another  breach   by  defending  champions  Cavalier.

This  according  to  the  letter  of  protest   handed  to  the  competitions  committee  of  the  Jamaica  Football  Federation, which  has  as  its  main  bone  of  contention newly  acquired  Haitian  players  Angelo Exilus and Jeudy Johnson.

Cavalier  on  page  5  of  the  16  page  protest  document   revealed  that  the  St. Ann-based  club  was  in  breach  of  Article 17.2    when  they  had  7  overseas  players   in  the  squad  for  the  game  against  Racing  United   on  April 10  instead  of  the  6   allowed  by  the  regulations.

Miguel Joseph,  Clifford Thomas, Angelo Exilus, Franco Celestine, Melvin Doxilly,  Emerson Laisse  and    Jeudy Johnson  were all   placed on the match card. The regulations stipulates  that  the seventh player is deemed to be ineligible.

Meanwhile, Irie  Fm  sports  understands  that  regional  governing  body  concacaf  has  weighed  in  on  the  protest  lodged  by  Cavalier, requesting that  all  the  documentation  be  forwarded  to  them.

The JFF competitions committee continues to deliberate on the issue with another meeting being  held  today  as they  seek  to have the issue resolved in time for the final round of preliminary  matches on Sunday.

The formal protest lodged on Tuesday, follows the use by Mount Pleasant of Haitian players Angelo Exilus and Jeudy Johnson.

Both players who were signed to Mount Pleasant during the January transfer window which ended on January 31, played in the opening round of the Concacaf Champions Cup on February 4 and 11 for  their  former  Club  Real  Hope  FC  against  Mexican  club  Cruz  Azul.

Between April 10 and 27 both players represented Mount Pleasant against Racing United,  Chapelton Maroons,  Arnett Garden,  Montego Bay United, Cavalier and Molynes United

The final round of matches in the Premier  League  on Sunday   will  confirm  the  automatic  semi-final  qualifiers, the team  for  the   final  playoff  spot  and  the  second  team  to  be  relegated.
