President of Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association Robin Russell says it’s clear Jamaica has taken more control of its tourism assets
President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Robin Russell, says it is clear that the nation has taken more control of its tourism assets.
Mr. Russell made the declaration while speaking to reporters at the Tourism Innovation Career Expo at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St. James.
Noting that about 40 per cent of the sector’s revenue remains in the country, Mr. Russell says it is important that efforts continue to ensure that Jamaicans benefit from tourism.
He lauded the efforts already being made, especially regarding training and certification.
