Pan-Africanists rally in Kingston in support of Burkina Faso’s President, Ibrahim Traore

Several Pan-Africanists have gathered at Emancipation Park in Kingston to show their support for Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traore .

Tensions are escalating between the United States and several West African nations after U.S. General Michael Langley, accused Captain Traore of diverting the country’s gold reserves to secure his regime.

Pan-Africans across the globe, including Jamaica, have united in support of Traore.

Today’s rally in Kingston is organised by the Rastafari Mansions and organisations.

Supporters will move from Emancipation Park to the Haile Selassie High School at 12 noon.

They will then visit the U.S. Embassy in Liguanea at 3:00 P.M.

A rally will also be held at Sam Sharpe Square in Montego Bay, St. James, starting at 9:00 A.M.
