Chairman of Region One of the People’s National Party, PNP, Dr. Wykeham McNeill says there must be a resolution to the issue of the defacing and  removal of political posters.

A number of PNP candidates have reported the defacing of their posters in recent weeks.

Dr. McNeill says he was very concerned about what he called a troubling thing.

According to him, the state is being used to control the party.

The Region One Chairman notes the lack of a mechanism to resolve the issues since the Office of the Political Ombudsman was subsumed into the Electoral Commission of Jamaica.

He was speaking in South East St. Ann at Dr. Kenneth Russell’s campaign launch.
