Some JLP supporters protest after Dr. Garfield James selected as candidate for Western Westmoreland
Some Jamaica Labour Party, JLP supporters armed with placards took to the streets in Westmoreland today to register their disapproval with the party’s decision following a selection exercise on Sunday.
Following the exercise JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang announced that the party’s secretariat intends to refer Dr. Garfield James to its Selection Committee and Central Executive, as its candidate for Western Westmoreland, in the next general election.
Member of Parliament Moreland Wilson was the other candidate.
Dr. Chang expressed confidence that following the exercise, unity will prevail among supporters.
However, this morning, several JLP supporters voiced their disapproval of Dr. James selection.
One woman is demanding answers.
