CPFSA intervenes in sexual abuse case at Jessie Ripoll Primary School
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) says it has referred a 6 year old girl who was allegedly sexually abused by an 11 year old boy at the Jessie Ripoll primary school, last month for psychological support.
Reports are that on March 11, the male student pulled the girl into an empty classroom after school, where she was assaulted.
The CPFSA said after the incident was reported, it launched a probe on March 12 and spoke with both children, as well as their parents.
Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA Laurette Adams-Thomas noted that the incident is deeply disturbing.
She said both students have been referred for psychological support.
She said the agency is continuing its investigations.
The agency is encouraging persons to report all forms of child abuse using the 24 hour 2-1-1 reporting hotline.
