Man who police describe as ‘known violence producer’ fatally shot during alleged police confrontation yesterday
A man who police say was a known violence producer was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with lawmen in Kingston yesterday.
Dead is 30 year old Rohan Anglin otherwise called “Anchie” of Denver Crescent, Kingston 20.
Area Four Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Michael Phipps said, Anglin, an alleged member of the lower Maverley Gang was shot during an operation led by the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (CTOC).
ACP Phipps said a police team entered a house and they were confronted by a man who opened gun fire at the team.
He said the lawmen discharged their service weapons and Anglin was fatally shot.
A firearm was allegedly seized during the incident.
ACP Phipps said Anglin was linked to Monday’s shooting incident on Molynes Road, in which one man was killed and another wounded.
He said Anglin was also involved in a car stealing operation across the Corporate Area and was previously charged with murder in 2022.
ACP Phipps said yesterday’s operation is testament of police efforts to restore peace to the Maverley community and to tackle gangs.
