Arrangements being made for students of Leeds Primary and Infant to be accommodated at nearby church

Arrangements are being made for students of the Leeds Primary and Infant School in St. Elizabeth to be accommodated at a nearby church.

This as fire damaged sections of the school on Sunday night.

The blaze destroyed the principal’s office, staffroom, a classroom and the library, leaving the school without electricity.

Loss is estimated at $50 million.

Member of Parliament for St Elizabeth North Eastern Delroy Slowley in noting that the school has a student population of approximately 230 said efforts are being made to ensure that teaching and learning continue.

Meanwhile, principal Christine Dawkins-Beadle said classes shifted online yesterday, but some students are expected to be engaged in face-to-face classes today.
