Molynes United records 3-2 win over Vere United on Ash Wednesday JPL resumption
Molynes United recorded a come from behind 3-2 win over Vere United on Ash Wednesday at the Tony Spalding Sports Complex, as action resumed following a recent strike by the referees, in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League.
Vere United took the lead after just 3 minutes when Robino Gordon scored the opening goal, before he doubled the lead in the 11th minute, to give the Clarendon based team a glorious start.
However, the momentum was short-lived, when midfielder Nickache Murray pulled one back for Molynes three minute later in the 14th minute.
On the resumption, Marlon Pennicooke brought Molynes level in minute 47, before Jason Wright put the game to bed in time added on.
In what was thier 7th win of the campaign, the triumph moves Molynes United into 10th place in the standings on 26 points, while Vere remains in the drop zone on 19.
In the meantime the Match Day 28 schedule closes out Friday with 5 matches across the island.
The St ann based leaders Mount Pleasant will face Waterhouse at Drax Hall in a 3;30 kick off.
In Clarendon Humble Lion welcomes Tivoli Gardens at the Effortville Community Centre also at 3.30 while Mobay United tackles Harbour View at the Catherine Hall Stadium at 6 o clock.
In a double-header at the Tony Spalding Sports Complex, Racing United faces Dunbeholden at 4.30 in the curtain raiser, while Chapelton Maroons goes up against Arnett Gardens in the feature game at 7.
The Portmore United Cavaliers encounter has been postponed.
