The United States Embassy in Kingston has expressed sadness at the sudden passing of a Jamaican man while visiting the consulate yesterday.

His identity has not been disclosed.

In a statement, the U.S. embassy said at about 8:20 A.M. the individual suffered a medical episode and despite immediate medical attention he passed away.

The body was later removed by a funeral home in accordance with local laws and procedures.

The embassy said out of respect for the privacy of the deceased and his family, it is unable to provide further details.
