Classes at the Oracabessa Primary School in St. Mary are suspended today after fire destroyed a section of the institution last night.
No injury was reported.
Firefighters are trying to ascertain what led to the blaze.
Member of Parliament for St. Mary Western Robert Montague said that he has contacted the Ministry of Education to find space to continue classes.
In the meantime, he said infrastructural upgrades planned for later this year will have to be brought forward.
