Public sector teachers restive over non-payment of graduate allowances
The island’s public teachers are growing restive after not receiving their graduate allowances.
President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) Dr. Mark Smith made the announcement this afternoon.
He explained that an agreement was previously made, stating that the allowances would be implemented.
However, this decision has recently been rescinded.
Noting that members are upset, he said he cannot guarantee normality in the education sector.
