48-hour curfews imposed in sections of Spanish Town St. Catherine have been extended until Tuesday evening.

One of the curfews was imposed on the communities of Oxford Road and railway premises.

The other curfew covers sections of Dela Vega City/ Port Henderson or Okra Lane and Dallas Lane in Spanish Town.

They were extended from 6 PM yesterday to 6 PM on Tuesday.

During the curfew persons within its boundaries are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorized by the ground commander.

There was a strong police / military presence in Spanish Town and surrounding communities heading into the weekend.

That followed two separate police fatal shooting incidents, which resulted in three deaths, a protest by residents, as well as the murder of a bus conductor, all within twenty-four hours.
