Work on Troy Bridge 45% complete – Morgan

Work on the new Troy Bridge on the Manchester / Trelawny border is about 45 percent complete.

The update was given yesterday by Works Minister Robert Morgan in response to queries from reporters during the Post Cabinet Press Briefing.

Work on the new Troy Bridge is expected to be completed by July.

Meantime, the National Works Agency (NWA) is urging motorcyclists to desist from using the footbridge in Troy.

The temporary Foot Bridge was installed last December, to allow residents ease of access, especially school children from communities in Manchester who attend learning institutions across the border in Trelawny.

Motorcycle drivers have been observed using the footbridge, and this poses a risk to pedestrians.

The bikers are being urged to use alternative routes.
