Murders continue to trend downward.
This as 73 people were murdered in the country between January 1 and February 1 this year, 11 fewer than the 84 people killed in the same period in 2024.
According to the latest crime data from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, St. Andrew South had the highest number of murders with 13 followed by St. Catherine South with 11.
Four police divisions have not yet recorded a murder.
They are Kingston Central, Manchester, St. Elizabeth, and Trelawny.
The JCF is also reporting a decline in cases of rape, robberies, and break-ins.
Rapes declined from 53 to 10, robberies went down from 61 to 54, while, break-ins decreased from 89 to 79.
