August Town residents praised for efforts at curbing crime and violence in community
Residents of August Town in St. Andrew are being hailed for their efforts at curbing crime and violence in the community, in recent years.
These efforts were supported by the government, through the national security ministry, as well as civic organisations that provided interventions.
Permanent Secretary in the ministry Ambassador Alison Stone Roofe urged the residents to continue ensuring that the area remains safe and peaceful.
She was addressing the August Town District Consultative Committee church service at the Goldsmith Villa Seventh Day Adventist church today.
Ambassador Stone Roofe noted the invaluable contribution of various social intervention programmes to the community.
