Jamaica’s young Reggae Girlz are poised for a decisive encounter on Saturday as they take on tournament hosts Nicaragua in a top-of-the-table showdown at the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Qualifiers.

With the stakes high, the Jamaicans need just one point to secure their place in the next stage, and all eyes will be on their performance as they aim to top Group ‘E’.

The young Jamaicans have made an impressive start to the tournament, leading the group on goal difference after a resounding 6-0 win over Saint Kitts and Nevis on Thursday. The Nicaraguans also secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Saint Kitts and Nevis in their opening match, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter on Saturday.

Kiana Wilson was the standout performer in Jamaica’s opening match, netting a stunning hat-trick to propel her team to victory. The match began with Wilson’s early goal in the 4th minute, as she fired in a right-footed shot to give Jamaica the lead. Brianna Turner doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute before Wilson struck again in the 47th minute, scoring a left-footed shot from outside the box to make it 3-0.

Wilson completed her brace in the 58th minute and then sealed her hat-trick just four minutes later, in the 62nd minute. The sixth and final goal of the match came from Shauntai Pryce in the 73rd minute, rounding off a dominant performance for the young Reggae Girlz.

The Jamaica team, which has shown both attacking and defensive strength, will now turn their attention to Saturday’s clash. A win or even a draw against Nicaragua will see them finish at the top of the standings, guaranteeing their qualification for the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Final Round.

Saturday’s match will be held at the National Stadium in Managua, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 PM Jamaica Time.
